Dr. Ben Zoghi is a full professor and founding director of RFID Oil & Gas Solution Group Consortium in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University.
He is a Motorola Fellow and has extensive technical and managerial experience with the electronic, telecommunication and semiconductor industries. Dr. Zoghi has led teams in the design and implementation of over 25 RFID projects. Dr. Zoghi has published over 140 articles in academic and practitioner journals and conferences, seven books and been awarded over $3.5 million in funded research projects and gifts. He is a frequent speaker for the associations and private firms on topics ranging from leadership development, and RFID technology process improvement. He has served on Board of Directors of multiple electronics companies. Dr. Zoghi holds a bachelor's degree from Seattle University and a master's degree from The Ohio State University, both in electrical engineering. He also holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Dr. Engels is the former Research Director of the Auto-ID Labs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Engels spearheaded the Auto-ID Labs’ transition from the Auto-ID Center to the Auto-ID Labs and EPCglobal, Inc., a non-profit organization. He is one of the principle architects of the EPC System, a system designed to connect physical objects to the Internet, and the principle product from the Auto-ID Center. The EPC System was licensed to EPCglobal Inc. in 2003. The EPC System is currently being adopted and deployed by the retail industry and the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Engels was the first Chairman of the Hardware Action Group under EPCglobal, Inc. and was a member of EPCglobal’s Technical Steering Committee (TSC) from its inception in 2003 until May 2005. The Hardware Action Group is the technical action group charged with developing the hardware standards, including radio frequency identification protocols, used within the EPC System. The TSC guides the work of all the technical action groups that develop EPCglobal’s standards and recommends avenues of EPC System related research to the Auto-ID Labs. |

Harry is the founder and President of The International RFID Business Association, an International, Not for profit, vendor neutral, educational trade association focused on providing education/training and other value added services to End users and other members of the RFIDba. Harry has been active in the RFID space since 1999 with active tags in closed end loop applications for the food, pharma, and transportation industries. In 2001 he began working with passive tag technologies again in closed end loop projects for manufacturing, warehousing, legal and healthcare. He saw the use of RFID technologies in many industries outside of the realm of supply chain. He realized that RFID can complement the use of bar coding in many applications from amusement parks to quality control in a pharma research labs. He and his associates have a number of patent pending, RFID applications with the US patent office. Harry has spent the last five years in the RFID space working with Active as well as Passive RFID technologies in a number of industries in a “hands-on” capacity.
